Winter Sustenance

What's that in the snow?


It's pale yellow, and a bit  pulpy.  Any guesses?


Looks like pale broccoli - but it's not.


It's an Osage Orange that has been chewed to bits, probably by a squirrel, for a little winter sustenance.  Mmm, mmm, mmm!

    I can't help it, every time I see the first picture, I think of vomit. I'm sure if I saw it in person it would have intrigued me as well. I love the close-up pic though!
